Tonya was born and raised in NL into a loving family and is the oldest of 5 children. Tonya's parents were married at a young age but there was no lack of love in the home and they always knew that God provided and blessed those who blessed others. The family home was built on faith and on a love for Jesus Christ. Tonya believes that's where her foundation for loving other and Jesus was laid. Tonya gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 9 years old but later in life decided that the ways of the church was not for her and strayed away for a few years but God had other plans for her life.

 

Tonya married her husband Roger at the age of 20 and God has blessed them with 2 beautiful girls. Tonya has been actively involved in the church where they attended for the last 19 years from Sunday School leadership to a church board member and many other roles in between. Tonya knows what it is to trust the Lord and wonders how people make it through without Jesus.

 

Life has not always been easy and there has been many mountains and valleys but Tonya always holds fast to her favourite scripture verse Romans 8:28 and we know all things work together for those who love the Lord, to those who are called according to His purpose. Tonya is trusting God to lead her in His perfect will knowing that God will never leave us nor forsake us no matter what situation or circumstance we may face in life.

 

Tonya feels so blessed to work along the Ignite Women's Outreach Team and is excited for what God has in store for this ministry in the future.
